Côte des Blancs

Larmandier-Bernier

Since the 19th century, the Larmandier family has cultivated vines in the Côte des Blancs’ premier and grand cru vineyards. Known initially for Champagne and Cramant Nature (still wine), Pierre Larmandier has led the domaine since 1988, adopting biodynamic practices, organic certification, and natural winemaking methods.

The estate covers 18 hectares (45 acres) in Côte des Blancs, including Vertus Premier Cru and grand crus like Cramant, Chouilly, Oger, and Avize. The vines, averaging 35 years old and from old massale selections, are carefully tended with light ploughing to promote deep rooting and natural yield control. The vineyard is entirely self-farmed, with hand-harvested grapes, primarily Chardonnay (90%) and Pinot Noir (10%).

Grapes are gently pressed and naturally fermented in casks and wooden vats. The wines mature on their lees for approximately one year without racking or filtering. Bottles then undergo a slow secondary fermentation in cool cellars, aging for several years with a subtle dosage designed to showcase the terroir. Larmandier produces around 150,000 bottles annually, with 75% exported to more than 50 countries worldwide.
