Mâconnais
Roc Breïa is a relatively new grower-maker project in Bray, northern Mâconnais, under the leadership of Théo Dancer since 2021. The estate spans roughly 10 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, with old vines: Chardonnay planted between 1940–1970, and Pinot Noir from 1970–1985.
Farming is organic and attentive to vineyard life, a "blank slate" that Théo sought to revitalize. In the cellar, Roc Breïa uses only oak and amphorae, with minimal sulfur additions just before bottling.
His Pinot Noir sees about 50% whole-bunch inclusion, fermented and aged for 12 months in 500-liter barrels. The resulting wines are rich, spicy, with fine tannins and notably expressive fruit, drinkable young yet suited to aging.
