Côte de Beaune
Founded in 1996 by Vincent Dancer in Chassagne-Montrachet, the small family domaine spans about five to six hectares in the Côte de Beaune. It gained organic certification in 2012, becoming the first producer in Chassagne to do so.
Vincent, originally an engineer, is deeply hands-off in both vineyard and cellar, believing in letting terroir speak. His winemaking employs minimal intervention: native yeasts, little to no new oak (under 10%), no fining or filtration, and very low sulfur levels. Temperature control is eschewed, and fermentation may continue a year after harvest.
The domaine’s vineyards stretch across famed Burgundy sites including Montrachet Grand Cru, Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Crus (La Romanée, Morgeot, Tête du Clos), Meursault Perrières, and sites in Pommard and Beaune. Since around 2012, Vincent has been transitioning many parcels to biodynamic practices, using horse-tilling in the 1er Cru vineyards.
Today, Vincent is joined by his son Théo, who carries the legacy forward. The wines—particularly the whites—are celebrated for their crystalline purity, precision, and expression of site. The reds, though limited, are increasingly available and reflect the same refined clarity.
