Vallée de la Marne
Rooted in Cumières since the 17th century, Champagne Geoffroy has passed down its winemaking tradition for generations. Founded by Roger Geoffroy in the 1950s and expanded by his son René, the estate is now led by Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy, who relocated winemaking to Ay in 2008.
Spanning 14 hectares across Cumières, Damery, Hautvillers, and Fleury-la-Rivière, the vineyard is sustainably farmed, avoiding herbicides to preserve terroir. Its 35 parcels, planted with Pinot Noir (42%), Meunier (34%), and Chardonnay (24%), benefit from Cumières’ premier cru microclimate.
In the cellar, grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and gravity-fed into vats and barrels. Jean-Baptiste avoids malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness, aging the wines for 3 to 8 years in deep chalk cellars. Each blend is crafted by taste, resulting in elegant and authentic Champagnes that truly reflect their terroir.
